Fearless Faith: Breaking Through What Held You Back

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

This September, YuKanFaith Magazine invites you to reflect on what it truly means to live with fearless faith. Our stories this month remind us that courage is not the absence of fear, it is choosing to rise, surrender, and press forward despite it.

Wendye Savage’s testimony reminds us that fearless faith is about breaking through the lies, trauma, and shame that once held us back. Her story is a light for women everywhere who need the courage to rise, shine, and go, telling the world what God has done. Kimberly Grant-Bynoe’s journey shows us that breaking through fear, poverty, and even grief is possible when we trust God with audacious, risk-taking faith. Her life calls us to rise up, dare to dream, and walk boldly into the “more” God has promised.

This same theme of courage echoes through Kelontae Gavin’s story of pain transformed into purpose. He shows us that even the most fractured parts of our lives can become instruments of healing when surrendered to God. Poloko Mmakgolane testifies that surrender, not self-confidence, is the turning point, that fearless faith is agreeing with God’s truth over every lie of powerlessness and victimhood

Faith is also about stewardship. In “From Scarcity to Stewardship,” Tommy Stapleton reminds us that living without fear includes how we manage resources. Moving from survival mode to strategic stewardship is an act of faith, declaring that our future is in God’s hands, not fear’s.

Dr. John Adolph shows us that faith can transform entire communities. Where others saw weeds and wilderness, he saw possibility, and through perseverance, prayer, and “crazy faith,” what was once rabbit-hunting land now stands as neighborhoods, senior homes, and a thriving hub of hope.

But fearless faith is not just for the pulpit, the stage, or the boardroom. It belongs in the everyday moments of life. Rahela Rajh reminds us that even the smallest acts, like turning spoons, blankets, and boxes into tools for play, can become holy ground. She shows that God often uses the ordinary to reveal the extraordinary, teaching us that presence is the greatest gift we can give.

As you journey through this issue, may each story ignite a new boldness in you. Fearless faith is not about perfection, it’s about surrender. It is about rising where you once fell, believing where you once doubted, and stepping into the promise that God has already prepared.

This month, let’s walk together in fearless faith. Break free. Rise up. Shine your light. And let the world see what God has done.

With courage and grace,Thando
