Rest
Today, it’s easy to mistake being busy for being productive, and many believers end up feeling emotionally and spiritually tired. Life’s constant demands can leave us feeling worn out, much like Psalm 23:2 describes when God leads us beside still waters. Real rest is more than just taking a break; it’s about letting go and trusting God.
Rest gives us a chance to reconnect with God’s truth. It’s a time to let go of control, set down our burdens, and admit where we need help. In these quiet moments, we can speak God’s promises over our lives. This isn’t about ignoring our struggles, but about choosing to trust in the truth God gives us.
Realign
We realign ourselves when we look to Scripture to understand who we are. Our identity should come from God’s Word, not from what’s happening around us. As we go through these declarations, we’ll face feelings like fear, guilt, and limitation, and let God’s truth change how we see things.
These declarations help us stay grounded in our identity as God’s beloved children. Each one encourages us to dig deeper into our faith and challenge the lies we may believe. As we continue, we’ll see how these truths can bring clarity and strength to our walk with God.
Declarations
In the next few issues, we’ll look at some powerful declarations that can anchor our faith:
Made for More – Ephesians 2:10: We are created with a purpose and meant to do the good works God has planned for us.
Forgiven – Psalm 103:12: In Christ, our sins are taken away as far as the east is from the west, freeing us from guilt and shame.
More Than Moments – 2 Corinthians 4:18: Our current troubles won’t last, and we’re called to focus on the eternal glory that is much greater.
Healing – Jeremiah 30:17: God promises to restore us, bringing healing to our minds, bodies, and souls.
Financial Overflow – 2 Corinthians 9:8: God promises to provide for us, and we’re called to live generously, showing His abundance.
Each of these declarations will help us understand who we are and guide us as we live out our faith.
Rise
Rising isn’t the same as striving. It comes naturally when we rest in God’s truth and remember who we are in Him. When we speak God’s promises over our lives, we work together with Him, which helps us grow and change spiritually.
When we speak these truths, we let the Holy Spirit work in us and give us a passion to live boldly in faith. We rise not by our own strength, but by surrendering to God’s will.
Closing Reflection
As we start this six-part devotional, I encourage you to pause and think. What burdens are you carrying? Where do you feel you need realignment in your life? Take a moment to bring these things to God and leave them with Him.
Get ready to explore these declarations, and look forward to what God will do in your life. Hold on to the hope that comes with renewal and expect change as you surrender to Him. Remember, you’re not alone in this journey. God is with you and wants to help you understand your identity and purpose.
During this time of rest, realignment, and rising, I hope you find new strength and clarity as you live out who you are in Christ.
